Major League DJz joins MTV BASE with their new reality TV show, Inside Life: Major League
Local DJ duos Major League DJz, real names Bandile and Banele Mbere, are now reality TV stars with their first-ever show Inside Life: Major League.
Like any other reality TV show, Inside Life: Major League will delve into the lives of the twins, giving fans an exclusive and intimate look inside their lives, while also showcasing cultural sensation and MTV Base Culture Squad member Uncle Vinny.
Known for their ardour for all things pop culture and always being at the forefront of the most defining moments in Mzansi, the duo has for the last decade established themselves as formidable musicians in South Africa’s music industry and beyond, coupled with their flair for throwing parties as big as Major League Gardens, Members Only and most recently their YouTube first Balcony Mix Africa.
The limited 8-part series is produced by MTV Base and Soul Candi Studios and will explore their interests and unforgettable travels across Africa as they strive to grow the Major League brand within the African Dance Scene.
According to Monde Twala, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of ViacomCBS Networks Africa commented, MTV Base being the home for youth culture home to African musos, showcasing Major League DJz’s journey of iconic sounds is an exciting venture for the channel.
“This exclusive behind-the-scenes look will be a fan favourite with our audiences as they share in the duos’ incredible lives. The show will inspire and entertain viewers while affirming the MTV Base commitment to empowering local talent on the continent’s number 1 youth and music channel,” he said.

Inside Life: Major League premieres exclusively on MTV Base (DStv channel 322) at 21:30 on the 19th of August 2021.
