Kabza de Small shines among the most streamed artists in South Africa on Apple Music
Music is, without a doubt, part of South Africa’s illustrious heritage. Genres like Kwaito, house and quite recently Amapiano are some of the many unique tunes to come out of the country and have managed to place Mzansi’s electric dance scene on the global map. It is from this fact that this Heritage Day, Apple Music is celebrating the most streamed artists of Mzansi, albums and songs on its platform that launched over 6 years ago.
Muso Kabza De Small bags the Most Streamed South African Artist, while Elaine’s chart-topping debut EP, Elements, claims the Most Streamed South African Album. Black Coffee’s smash No.1 song ‘Drive’, with David Guetta and feat. Delilah Montagu took the Most Streamed South African Song recognition.
Self proclaimed King of Amapiano Kabza said he was honoured and humbled by such an award.
“As musicians, it is our dream to be recognized. It gives me great pleasure to be awarded by Apple Music as the most streamed South African artist to date. The Amapiano genre was generated long before it became commercial. The genre has surpassed my expectations. I don’t know how else I would be able to express myself without music. Thank you so much to all my fans,” he said.

Elaine, who is currently flying the country’s flag high internationally, also said she is humbled and grateful that her music is received with love
“This project changed my life forever, and seeing how much people connect with it till this day, warms my heart. Thank you to every single person that’s been streaming and supporting me. It wouldn’t be possible without you. I love and adore you guys! Thank you to Apple Music for the incredible support since its release. I can’t wait to share new music with you all very soon.”
In addition to this, Shazam has also released the Most Shazamed South African Artists and Songs of All-Time. Kabza De Small again takes the top artist spot and “LiYoshona” by Kwiish SA which feat. Njelic, MalumNator and De Mthuda, emerged as the most Shazamed song.
